Dr. Guillermo F. Camacho Pérez

Specialist in Pelvic floor repairment

What is it?

Pelvic floor disorders consist of the descent (prolapse) of the pelvic organs (the uterus, the vagina, the bladder, the urethra and the rectum) due to muscle weakness or distention/injury of ligaments or tissues of the pelvic floor.

The surgical intervention consists in locating the weakened area and strengthening the surrounding tissues to prevent the organ from descending through the weak zone. The types of surgery can be:

Vaginal surgery: Performed through the vagina, without the need for an external incision.

Abdominal surgery: One or more small incisions are made in the abdomen.
